My dear MCU canon mates,

Has anyone given thought to how time passes for our universe? Is it the standard 'time stops while you're in Milliways' gig? Has anyone done something else? Should we all do the same thing?

Your thoughts?

ETA: Seems like we mostly have a consensus anyway! Thanks, everyone.

Steve has always had "time stops when you're in Milliways." All my characters do, it's just simpler.

Not quite your universe but one nearby...um, Sir? Anyway, I have been unable to detect any discernible passage of time in my reality when I visit Milliways. I have experimented with synchronized watches, a wristwatch and a pocket watch, both of Swiss design, and the time piece I left back home didn't seem to have changed at all while the watch I wore to the bar moved forward in time.

[OOC: Sorry, don't know why Hank felt like answering in character.]

(better late than never?)

I generally stick with doing my own thing because I am bad at giant shared universes. HOWEVER: I've had time hold still for both Darcy and Clint.

Natasha-mun here, as I don't feel like battling DW login (LJ-LOGIN MY DARLING I MIIIIISS YOU):

I'm sticking with 'time stops while Natasha is there'.

If nothing else, the paperwork will be simpler ;-) (less tongue-in-check: it'll cause fewer stress points re: Milliways, which I'm all in favour of.)

(Psst - depending on your browser, of course, you should be able to use LJ-Login with DW, too. Look in the preferences for LJ login, and check the box to enable DW in addition; it should let you set everything up in a separate instance, right beside the LJ one!)

(Ah, you missed Firefox messing me about! Yeah, I USED to have shiny lj-login working, but then FF updated without my permission, and just about none of my add-ons work anymore, including that one. >.< )

(... yes, yes I did miss that, and UGH. I am so sorry.

Ironically, as I write this, I just went to check my own version of FF, and doing so appears to have triggered an update. Blech. Here's hoping everything works on the other side of it.)

(Yep, GOT EVERYTHING WIPED. Goodbye, pretty shiny bookmarks. I lack the confidence in my tech-savvy to fiddle around to try and save them, so, yeah >.<

...eeeeeeeeeep. Here's hoping!)

For Thor, time has always stopped. (Because that was the only possible way I could have brought him in at all the mid-canon points I wanted to, and because it was easier.)

I don't think we necessarily all need to do it the same way -- it's a Marvel universe, so we can justify whatever we feel like, and of course it's entirely possible that some of us are an AU sidestep from others anyway. But, yeah, that's how it works for Thor, and I have no plans to change that!

Time has always stopped for Bucky while in Milliways. He and Steve used that to their advantage a few times between missions, in particular during Slenderplot.

(The Winter Soldier won't be able to answer this question reliably due to, er, fun canonical reasons, but I can confirm that time will be stopping for him while he's in Milliways, too. With one possible exception planned that I don't think will impact anyone else, and which I'd be glad to discuss further if there are any concerns!)

Yes another time-stopper here. It's simpler to think about, given that it's my usual standard for other pups.

Logging in via mun journal because I'm running late for class, and waving the 'time stops' flag, because it's easier for both Jane and I.

Another Mun journal here.

I also use the timestop, I just find it easier to work with mentally.

EDIT: Also, the pup doesn't freak out so badly that way.
