Hey gang!

Just to further clarify a comment I made in another post:

Tl and I have decided, after a few months of discussion, to make our Clint and Natasha AU from the MCU cast in M'ways. This is mostly just so we're free to do our thing post-Avengers should it come up without stepping on anyone else's toes. Of course, they aren't aware of it...yet.

(And Bucky | Alex and young Nataliya are a bit wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey-multiversey - details or M'ways!handwave pending)

But given this, and other pups coming in from different places, I thought it might be a good idea just to open up the post to where everyone else is in various timelines and worlds.

Sooo, guys, where your pups at?

SRSLY. I lost the following twenty seconds of the film after that, because I was so busy going, 'uh...what?' Because yes, lets just shoot Banner from the sky, and see how well that goes down, shall we? I didn't see them checking to see whether he was in a populated area or not - and ffs, it's been pretty well proved by now that bullets don't touch him. So, really, Hydra!Shield. Have a word with yourself.

About the only "logic" I can come up with (and I use the term very loosely) is that no one bothered to vet the algorithm, except perhaps Zola, who wouldn't have cared about any potential collateral damage.

For that matter, HYDRA!SHIELD probably didn't either.

That was my first thought too - but then, it's stupid. Because...OK, well I suppose they could hardly hide the fact they were blatantly murdering these people, so probably wouldn't have been concerned about one being left alive as evidence. But making him Hulk out and destroy things would hardly be good PR, given that they'd probably have to say 'hey, we were taking out threats to National Security. Just like we do with terrorists!' in order to keep people OK with it. Doubly stupid because he was one of the people who helped stopped the aliens in NY, so people aren't going to buy that he's public enemy #1.

Nope, they're going to get an angry green monster running around, and if Bruce said 'hey, SHIELD tried to kill me and say I was a terrorist', quite a few people are going to ask questions. So. It's weird. And stupid. I could buy that no one bothered to vet the algorithm if they hadn't mentioned him by name - but there's no way all those SHIELD agents were clueless as to what happens to him when he gets shot. I think it was probably an excuse to name drop one of the other Avengers into the movie, but its still odd.
