MCU-muns, Assemble!
Mar. 11th, 2013 10:51 amHey guys!
There are a couple more of us now, and some timeline shenanigans, so I thought it might be an idea for us all to mention where and when our characters are from.
(And if people are in odd times, maybe we can hash out basic character-interactions, or guidelines for dealing with the timeline mess?)

Date: 2013-03-11 03:38 am (UTC)He won't be going post-Avengers likely until Cap 2, as Ash and I are playing Natasha and Clint as best friends so whatever happens to her in that will pretty strongly effect him even if he's not in it.
I'd appreciate it if no one who goes post-Avengers directly references what he is doing, etc. All I know about his actions is that he took off with Natasha post-Avengers and hasn't been around New York (my Clint lives in San Diego, and kind of needs to be at his home-base after the events of the movie).

Date: 2013-03-11 11:27 am (UTC)My reasoning is: Erik is in NM for a fair while, working with Jane. Then he needs to go back to Culver, and sort out paperwork and stuff. Then he's called to Pegasus by Fury.
I have no idea what Clint does during that time (take that vacation?) but that's my estimate on the timeframe.
here jj have all the words. ALL OF THEM
Date: 2013-03-14 03:02 pm (UTC)Thanks! The timeframe thing is especially difficult because I have no idea a) how long Marvel is placing between the movies (like, it should be at least a year between Fury's Big Week and Avengers as Natasha says "you haven't had an incident in over a year" to Bruce, but then people seem to think it's a lot shorter in some timeline maps I've seen?) and b) why/when Clint was sent to Pegasus.
Given Clint's apparent relative seniority as a field agent (given how he speaks to Fury, Hill, and Coulson, and given how chill they are with him talking to them like that), I'm assuming he's not just sent to stare at the cube -- probably he's there to revamp the security protocols in place, etc. Which might cause some tension between him and Erik >.>! And that would definitely make sense with him arriving after Erik. :D.
I personally got the feeling from watching the movie that Clint was pretty worn out, in that bone-deep way that implies something bad went down beforehand and the cube details was kind of a "dear field agent, please do not burn yourself out," but I'm not sure what. Right now, he and his team are handling fall-out from the situation in NM.
A vacation might be nice, before getting Loki'd. I feel bad about Erik not getting one, but working with the Tesseract might just count for him :P.

Date: 2013-03-22 10:44 pm (UTC)There's Natasha's reference to Bruce, and there's also a comment Fury makes when they're starting the argument on the Helicarrier, about Thor
"Last year he showed up... point about Thor not relevant here"
So, it's definitely more than a year, but less than two since the events of Thor (such that Fury's comment can be considered chronologically accurate, i.e. Thor shows up in 2011 some time. argument is had some time in 2012)
From the way Erik talks about Barton, he's been there some time, probably on the order of at least 2-3 months, so it's more than just a security revamp. Possibly it was a security revamp to start with, but then Barton has just taken on the role of chief of security (or possibly second in command or something, i don't know?)
Being given that duty could well be a 'don't burn yourself out', I'm not sure.
