MCU-muns, Assemble!

Hey guys!

There are a couple more of us now, and some timeline shenanigans, so I thought it might be an idea for us all to mention where and when our characters are from.

(And if people are in odd times, maybe we can hash out basic character-interactions, or guidelines for dealing with the timeline mess?)

So I'll get this party started! :D

Natasha is mostly from post IM2/Thor/Incredible Hulk (assuming they all happened in the same week, as per Fury's Big Week and Coulson running off in the middle of IM2), and I've got some plans for M'ways-ing up the tie-in comic Black Widow Strikes (hasthehighground, hisonegoodeye, the_man, I'll set up a post soon for organizing if anyone wants to play along - all very low-key), but other than that, she'll just have various hijinks until whenever we do Avengers. If anyone is post-Avengers, I'd prefer them not thread with Natasha until she's also post-Avengers, for various reasons.

But just to be a bit confusing! Natasha will also have some OOMs from nerves_of_ice's timeline, as Aspen and I have Plots. She might also have the occasional EP, too, depending on things. For that, I'm okay with people meeting with her out of order, because TIMELINE SHENANIGANS, but to be safe, if people could just PM me first so we have a line of communication, that'd be shiny.

Hopefully that all makes sense, anyway.

Greetings from the past! Howard is currently in March 1944, and will be staying in that pivotal year for a while longer, till after D-Day (because you can't ignore D-Day, even if your pup isn't part of the invasion). I plan to jump him ahead over the end of Captain America and into 1946 and the Cold War.

BTW, Aspen and Jenna, any thoughts on whether the public knows about Cap's death? I have some ideas about this. (Ashie, I know you dropped Peggy, but if you gave that question any thought, your input is welcome, too.)

Also, I would love to know if Nick Fury's mun has any ideas about when he and Howard met. (I have no plans to say that Howard was a SHIELD agent in the 50s, a la the short lived comic by Hickman, mainly because I just don't care for Hickman's work, sad to say.)

Hello from various points in the space-time continuum! I just had the idea of Cold War!Natasha and Howard meeting sometime, even if briefly (although it'd be after the late 50s, because that's when Natasha is being a field agent). Interested?

Re: Steve's death, I hadn't given it much thought, but I figured it'd be post-war? During the war, they need the morale-boost too much. But that's just my vague opinion.

Re: Cap's death: I assume it is made known, though probably not until some time after the plane went down. IIRC there's a memorial to Cap in the comics in Arlington Cemetery, which is something I'd like to deal with at some point.

That's one of my questions too.

I'm choosing to keep as quiet as I can about Fury's past and hope desperately for some more canon. I'm not optimistic, though.

I have theories, which I will happily discuss with you if you like. But I won't millicanon them yet.

Steve is currently post-Avengers, and I'm dealing with the lull between films with "we've been ordered to lay low," so Steve is learning about his new century and spending time with his teammates. He's living in New York, in the apartment SHIELD gave him from the deleted scenes of Avengers.

I'm planning to send him on a road trip with Orpheus across the country soonish, or start doing the OOMs soonish, but that'll be in Orpheus's world so the team probably won't even know he's gone.

He doesn't know that any of the other members of the team come to Milliways except for Fury, which is a goof on my part, eek, but we managed not to screw things up, I think.

Hey-o! I mentioned this in the post below, but in case you aren't checking back (because who does that, seriously /sheepish) – Natasha-mun and I have Clint and Natasha leaving NYC once Thor and Loki are gone and we don't really know where they're going from there. So if you could avoid directly referencing what their actions are, etc., that'd be great as we have no clue – their post-Avengers lives are going to be in limbo until Cap2 comes out :).

Not that I've played in ages (got to get on that) but Tony is pre-Iron Man and I'd generally prefer to keep him away from other MCU types for a while, though if anybody's itching for a Tony in OOMs, we can chat

I wouldn't mind picking your brains a bit later, Lexie, to sort out how Tony and Natasha go between IM2 and Avengers (to me, there is a bit more fondness/familiarity there than would be if they didn't run across each other between those movies), but utttttterly no rush on that at all.

Timeline shenanigans, you say? *eyedart*

The Winter Soldier is right now set in time just after World War II as things spin into the Cold War. He will be there for a while, skipping forward through time with the aid of several long stints spent "on ice" in suspended animation.

I'll try to post dates every so often based on various missions or major jumps, etc. I'm keeping things somewhat vague until I find out just how much MCU intends to alter Brubaker's comics story, but by and large I think it'll be a near enough match that there's room to move. :)

I anticipate he'll hit "current" post-Avengers time right around the release of Captain America 2 -- in April 2014.

Darcy is about three or four months post-Thor currently. I'm going to keep her there until Fury, Natasha, Clint, and so forth catch up to her vague timeline -- especially as it looks like politics are happening in IM3, and she's a polisci major so she'd have ALL THE FEELS about that.

I might be going AU when Thor2 comes out -- I have no idea what they're doing with Darcy, and they might joss me entirely. On the other hand, I intend at this time to work in as much of what happens in Thor2 into Darcy's timeline as possible.

I have to say, I suspect they'll joss you, (my suspicion is that to them, Darcy isn't final year, so wouldn't be looking for a job in the near Post-Thor future.) But, internships... :) *shrugs*

Clint is currently just a bit post-Thor. Vague temporalness, yay! A couple weeks-ish. I'm still trying to figure out what he does before going to guard the Tesseract, so I am being as lazy as possible.

He won't be going post-Avengers likely until Cap 2, as Ash and I are playing Natasha and Clint as best friends so whatever happens to her in that will pretty strongly effect him even if he's not in it.

I'd appreciate it if no one who goes post-Avengers directly references what he is doing, etc. All I know about his actions is that he took off with Natasha post-Avengers and hasn't been around New York (my Clint lives in San Diego, and kind of needs to be at his home-base after the events of the movie).

Well, I reckon that it's at least 2-3 months until Erik gets to Pegasus, (the base) and Erik is there when Clint arrives, so you've got a fair bit of time to play with on that front, by my reckoning.

My reasoning is: Erik is in NM for a fair while, working with Jane. Then he needs to go back to Culver, and sort out paperwork and stuff. Then he's called to Pegasus by Fury.

I have no idea what Clint does during that time (take that vacation?) but that's my estimate on the timeframe.

Just tagging in to say I think would should use MCU for movies Marvel has creative control over and something else so the others, such as XMCU for the X-Men franchise or SMCU for Spider-Man.

I know we only have X-Men First Class muns currently but this might help confusion in the future.

*nodnodnods* Yeah, I was trying to differentiate by using MCU (oh, everything-related-to-comics, WHY SO CONFUSING), but that system personally works for me! Not sure if you'd want to make a post about it so the X-Men movie-muns know.

Thor is currently just barely past the Thor movie! (Still technically mid-movie if you count the very last couple of scenes with Heimdall and Odin, which haven't happened for him yet because I wanted to handwave them a bit later into the epilogue.) He's going to be hanging out in the nebulously-long-in-Asgard time between movies until at least Thor 2 is out. I don't want to put him through Avengers until I know what happens after Avengers, since for Thor that kind of matters.

(Edit: so I would appreciate it if anybody post-Avengers would hold off on having Thor come back to Midgard, or at least keep it ambiguous? Or else we can diverge AUs, which I have no problem with doing. But I am waiting to see when and how canon brings him back to the team, especially given the ongoing lack of Bifrost.)

I am open to him meeting other pre-Avengers folk -- we can discuss timeline details and any other logistics, but for most of them I think it's workable at least for Thor's end of things. I will probably hold off on post-Avengers folk for a while, because I don't want him finding out Loki-related spoilers, but ping or PM me if you really want to and we'll see if we can make something work. And I have no problem with them knowing Thor comes to the bar, and just mysteriously failing to cross paths with him until it's convenient for all muns.

Ah, I am so out of the loop these days, but Jane is still somewhere in the first half of Thor. I would like to get her beyond the movie before Thor 2 comes out, though.

:D :D :D Darcy-mun here. The next month is a mess of finishing my senior project & my brother's wedding, but if you want threads I am so in. Darcy's a few months post-Thor, but I've left it vague what Jane is up to (Darcy's working directly for SHIELD now), and I can thread canon-y things or they can meet in bar, w/e.

(Thor just asked Darcy to explain what happend to Jane for him -- would you be okay if we OOM'd that later and millitimed it back? As Darcy will be dancing around Milliways existing.)

Erik is currently somewhere between the events of Thor and Avengers Assemble.

I'd probably reckon about 2-3 months post Thor, and he's now working with SHIELD at the PEGASUS Project base, wherever that is claimed to be. He'll be in that timeframe (between the two movies, I mean) until I'm not sure when, probably until I've seen Thor 2 at least, but I'm good with doing OOMs outside that, if someone feels it's appropriate.

About the only semi-millicanon thing I've done is extreme length threads between Erik and Bruce Banner.

Bruce is currently just past The Incredible Hulk, and Bound in Milliways while I finish up my degree. As soon as I'm free, he'll be leaving to start the journey to India, where he'll stay for a while before I launch him into Avengers.

He's starting to get used to people recognising his name, though he's only met Erik from MCU, I believe (sorry, I am brain dead from essay stuff) - I don't mind him talking to canonmates, as long as he's not punctured. :)

Fury is in the nebulous post Thor pre-Avengers area as well. The events of Fury's Big Week have occurred. Captain America has not yet been discovered.

Except now Fury knows he isn't dead. :D

Look, Fury is going to be ruthlessly exploiting the bar's weirdness. Though he is very cautious about using knowledge of the future, especially since he passed intelligence to Bucky Barnes that ended up getting him killed.

If you want me for OOMs, I am here. If you want your characters to have missions, leave me a message. If you want to drink coffee with Fury, let me know. I am open to any possibilities, and will be happy to use Fury to forward your character goals, whatever they may be.
