MCU PSA and Status and...Roll-Call?
Hey gang!
Just to further clarify a comment I made in another post:
Tl and I have decided, after a few months of discussion, to make our Clint and Natasha AU from the MCU cast in M'ways. This is mostly just so we're free to do our thing post-Avengers should it come up without stepping on anyone else's toes. Of course, they aren't aware of it...yet.
(And Bucky | Alex and young Nataliya are a bit wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey-multiversey - details or M'ways!handwave pending)
But given this, and other pups coming in from different places, I thought it might be a good idea just to open up the post to where everyone else is in various timelines and worlds.
Sooo, guys, where your pups at?

I am going to wait until next month to app Sam Wilson and plan to bring him in at the start of Cap2. Thus I will wait until our Steve (at the very least) gets to that point as them meeting within Milliways before meeting in DC breaks my brain. I am in no rush to play Sam, as I've lots of other loose threads to tie with my other pups, so no worries for me. =]
ETA: When I do bring Sam in, how do you feel about him sort of flirting with Nat? After the interview with Machie where he said each scene with Nat he thought Sam was flirting with Nat, it's sort of become head canon for my voice but Sam is professional enough to tone it down or not express it; i.e. if you don't want me to, I won't have him flirt with your Nat.

In-game, Nat doesn't mind if he flirts at all. Depending on how it goes, she might go 'hi, actually married' at him to keep it low-level, but nope, she doesn't mind.

Also, I kind of made a Black Widow/Spider-Woman fanmix and thought you might want to see it.

Ooooooooooooh, I'll totally check that out when I have brain again! (I broke mine today)

Jemma Simmons is currently pre-AoS, (and thus pre-Thor2 / pre-CA2), and... idk about worlds. From the same one as Fitz, presumably from the same as May, presumably from the same as Coulson? So much idk.

COULSON IS SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW, I CANNOT.

Anyway, Howard remains in 1947, ostensibly helping run the SSR, but probably letting Peggy be the real boss while he's running Stark Industries. Our new Peggy and I need to hash this out. And I can finally see about writing that "Howard is forced to work with Zola" fic that inspired me to app Howard in the first place. The sad truth of Howard's death is so far in the future that I don't need to address it. But might someday.
It is a bit odd knowing that even while Howard and Peggy think things are good, HYDRA is slowly regrouping. It's sort of like being in a Star Wars prequel, where you know that the bad guys win despite all that you do. I wonder how much we will get to find out in canon, from either an Agent Carter series or Age of Ultron.

And ahhhh, Bucky killing Howard later. That is going to hurt.

(I think that was the date on the newspaper, anyway....)

Frankly, I am now starting to feel a bit depressed that Howard is helping to sow the seeds of something really bad. Whatever you might think of the real Operation Paperclip, the ex-Nazi scientists in the real world stayed ex-Nazis. And given that Zola was a coward and didn't kill himself, I didn't think of him as a true believer till now.

I never thought Zola was a True Believer per se, but I can see him sticking with whatever organization gave him the resources and funding and support to do his weapons development and his experiments. Whether that be Department X, HYDRA, or whoever; Zola's interests are his own.
I'm sorry, though; it must be more than frustrating to find out how good works were turned to darker purposes. If it's any consolation, I strongly suspect that it's the foundation that Howard and Peggy and Col. Phillips built that gives SHIELD the good to offset the bad, and creates the roots to build something stronger after the events of this film.

Let's not forget that they could possibly go the way of the comics and Howard faked his death. He is clever enough to still do that IMO in the MCU. We could always millicanon that as our AU if you'd like.

Three things about Coulson:
1) He's just pre-Thor in his entrance posts, as I've been waiting to kill him off until canon lets us know how he survived, which (I'm told; I am hilariously behind on AoS) it has now done. So! He will now be slowly but steadily moving through canon, including the ass-hatty Norse god with inappropriately sharp spear. (Ow.)
2) HOWEVER, because I love his tiny Agents of SHIELD kids and general universe-mates with the power of approximately a hundred tantrumming Hulks, he is also scooting through time and space as I require it (and, frankly, as I find it funny). This is so that he can thread plot and various ridiculousness as needed. (Hi, Hill.) He's sticking fairly closely to canon, so this can apply.
3) To aid and allow for point 2, Coulson is from a 'verse where his Captain America has never found Milliways. As I say, he's going to be sticking fairly closely to canon (and Milliways is such a game-changer).

Fury is about to step up through Cap 1 canon and then shortly after into Avengers, now that we know what happens next.
So far it seems like Fury is sharing a universe with Clint, Natasha, Bucky, Hill, Thor, and Howard Stark. Maybe Peggy as well? (ETA: and Bruce Banner!) I'm not as sure about the AoS people and Cap, as they're coming in from a different time. This may all change!
Please do keep us informed as what y'all are up to. I for one very much enjoy the idea that some of us come from the same universe outside of Milliways.

(I figure between Marvel's own nature and Milliways-ness, there's plenty of room to move.)
He's from the "main" MCU universe, as Fury describes above, but with Earth-616 comics canon strongly influencing backstory and development. I think Steve's also part of this 'verse - at least Bucky considers him to be, and the Steve he knows/knew/may-again-know in Milliways is from the same world as he is.
(Just for the record, Ashie and I have talked about Bucky-Nat-Clint dynamics, given everything, and Clint/Natasha works well in "present" time, so no problems there!)
ETA: Ha ha, whoops, I forgot to explicitly state where he is in canon right now. The Winter Soldier is post-CA1, currently in 1955, and will be moving forward through time and various events over the next few months, headed for CA2.

Not a surprise at all, and yet I call this some Extremely Poor Thinking on HYDRA!SHIELD's part, because seriously, have they not NOTICED what happens when someone shoots at Banner?
no subject
no subject
For that matter, HYDRA!SHIELD probably didn't either.
no subject
Nope, they're going to get an angry green monster running around, and if Bruce said 'hey, SHIELD tried to kill me and say I was a terrorist', quite a few people are going to ask questions. So. It's weird. And stupid. I could buy that no one bothered to vet the algorithm if they hadn't mentioned him by name - but there's no way all those SHIELD agents were clueless as to what happens to him when he gets shot. I think it was probably an excuse to name drop one of the other Avengers into the movie, but its still odd.

I'm assuming he's from the main MCU universe, and from the same version of it as at least Fury and Darcy and Erik, and others as well unless I know you want to be in a one-step-over AU for that kind of freedom. But I have no problem with surreptitiously diverging AUs from canonmates if at any point it seems useful to do so -- for me or for them, and for actual trousers-of-time canon divergence or just for the OOC freedom to not need to check in too much. I'm easy!

Steve does have his own, Milliways-influenced timeline. If people want to play in that 'verse, great; if not, I'm good with one-step-over AUs too.

As for Fitz,

Jane has been stuck during the events of Thor for the gods know how long, but she'll be coming in post movie fairly soon. I have no problem with future spoilers up to Thor 2 and Cap2 (haven't seen the latter yet, but I do watch AoS).
Totally late to the party but Shulkie and Siryn are here
Siryn is being played close to her current comic canon except that she didn't get pregnant with Jamie Madrox's baby. I'm ignoring that Jamie-absorbed-mah-baybee nonsense.
